Consonantia: a word used by Thomas Merton …literally “sounding together” to refer to the essential inner harmony of the universe

Throughout the year, St. Andrew’s United Church offers free workshops to those wishing to explore the breadth of spiritual experience. These well-attended events are often inspired by, and held in partnership with, the Thomas Merton Society of Canada. A Trappist monk of the Abbey of Gethsemani, Kentucky, Thomas Merton was a prolific spiritual writer, poet, social activist, and student of comparative religion. As Program Director of the Thomas Merton Society of Canada and our presiding minister, Rev. Judith Hardcastle continues to find (and share) great inspiration and strengthening of faith in Merton’s life and teachings. Please click here to learn about upcoming events.
